For the last eighteen years, I have served my community as a middle school teacher in an eighth grade language arts classroom. I have been an active member of our national, state and local education association, serving as Brush Education Association president for three years and as a member of the negotiating team for eight years.

I understand school funding and its impact on the entire district and the surrounding community. I also know from first-hand experience that we cannot afford to cut corners on education. When we do that, class sizes grow, programs get cut, and our kids suffer. We cannot afford that. Those kids are our future.
