My name is Debbie Benefield and I have been your House District 29 (HD 29) Representative to the Colorado Legislature for the past two years. I'm running for re-election to another two-year term because I want to continue working to uphold our legislative pledge of "Promises Made, Promises Kept". I know that listening closely to you and collaborating with my fellow legislators gives us the momentum to accomplish positive and productive change for the people of Colorado.

I have been committed to improving public education my entire adult life. First as a public school parent, and later as the President of the Jeffco PTA, and the Vice President of the Colorado PTA. I have fought for school bond issues in Jeffco, and for increased funding of public education throughout the State.

I believe that we must empower Public Education and increase parental Involvement. My goals for my second term include:

• Fully funding public education and ensuring accountability for all schools
• Focusing on high educational standards and practices that ensure every student achieves
• Defending local control for school districts
• Stimulate and strengthen partnerships between parents, teachers, civic groups and businesses

Together we can make Colorado's public schools the best in the nation.
