A licensed clinical social worker, Mollie is currently employed by the Cherry Creek School District's mental health team. A Colorado Native, Mollie received her education at the University of Colorado (Boulder) where she completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1986. She later went on to attend the Columbia University School of Social Work where she received her Master of Science in Social Work in 1997.
Mollie is a member of Cherry Creek School's "Parent Partnership" task force. She also serves on a Smoky Hill High School feeder area task force for prevention of gang involvement/violence. She is a member of the Renaissance School's Accountability Committee, and served on Cherry Creek's Student Attendance Review Board from 2001 to 2003.
On education:
Colorado would save millions of tax-payer dollars if the current assessment tool (CSAP) were to be restructured.
A solid educational system benefits everyone from the students themselves to the homeowners concerned with property values.
Working for Cherry Creek Schools during the last five years, I have watched public education funds dwindle as class size grows. I have seen the burnout of dedicated teachers as they struggle to educate children who face overwhelming environmental challenges. I am concerned!
We need...
- smaller class size
- improved staff development
- productive parent partnerships
- more efficient assessment tools
- early childhood intervention - fully funded
- the return of quality after-school programs - fully funded
