Career: Veterinarian, practiced veterinary medicine in Loveland for 16 years, owned Allard Animal Hospital in Loveland; Currently a Teacher at Heritage Christian High School in Fort Collins; Member, American Veterinary Association and American Animal Hospital Association.
Government: Elected to Colorado Senate in 2002. Elected to Colorado House in 1996, 1998 and 2000. Past Chairman, Fort Collins Urban Growth Area Review Board; past chairman, Larimer County Planning Commission; Past Chairman, Larimer County Republican Party, 1991-92;
Agenda: Education, health care, agriculture, crime, taxation, environment and land use.
Personal: Born April 1960, in Columbus, Ohio to Walter and Annemarie Johnson. Graduated, Arapahoe High School in Littleton, 1978; B.S. in chemistry from Colorado State University in 1982, minor in Political Science; Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, 1986. ASCSU student senate. Phi Beta Kappa. Wife Lynette is a veterinary technician at CSU.
Civic: Member of Loveland Rotary Club; Past president of United Way of Loveland, Berthoud, Estes Park; Past Director, Loveland Chamber of Commerce.
Recreation: Philately, gardening, reading American history and political science, and horseback riding. Favorite sport is hockey.
