Senate District 15

My name is Jennifer Miller, and I am running for office as a State Senator for Senate District 15 in the beautiful state of Colorado. Senate District 15 encompasses all of Larimer County except for Fort Collins. It includes Bellvue, Berthoud, Drake, Estes Park, Laporte, Loveland, Wellington and Windsor. We have it all, from the mountains, to the prairies, to the rivers, from rural to the urban to developing communities. It is my desire to serve all of these communities as your State Senator.

I have always wanted to be involved in some way with politics since my high school days. Working alongside politicians on the local, state and national levels since the 1988 election has given me a sense of community, citizenship, and patriotism that has made me proud to be an American and to have such a wonderful process where ordinary citizens can be involved. I have worked alongside wonderful volunteers, who wanted to make a difference any way they could, from meeting other volunteers to joining a Japanese drumming group that helped a politician’s first State House district bid have been some of the highlights of my service.

I also believe that I have experience through my college degree, job choice, and organizations to be an effective State Senator. My Bachelors’ in Political Science from Eastern Illinois University has given me a great foundation in politics and how our democracy works. My early jobs in day care has taught me how our earliest educational experiences can impact the rest of our lives, as well as the struggles of parents to provide a safe and fun environment for their children while trying to make ends meet. And of course my job as a sign language interpreter has taught me that when communication is effective, anything is possible!

Now I have the opportunity to increase my level of service by becoming a State Senator. I am very excited to be able to do this, but I will need lots of help. I am asking you for your support. To beat my opponent I will need envelope lickers, doorknockers, and your financial support to keep my campaign viable until the November election. The maximum amount of contribution in Colorado allowable is $400.00, but if you could give any amount, which would be used for postage, printing, and politicking would be much appreciated. Thanks again for your support!

As your State Senator, I will promise to work for you to make Larimer County a leader in Colorado and our nation.
