Most of us live in Colorado because of its natural beauty and the opportunity for a high quality of life. However, our great state has gone through difficult times during the past three years.
Did you know that…
- 90,000 Coloradans have lost their jobs.
- Colorado has slipped from the 3rd strongest economy in the nation to the 49th.
- Healthcare premiums have risen 15-25%, while coverage has decreased.
- Colorado ranks 1st in the U.S. in foreclosures.
- Colorado has fallen to 48th for high school completion and 49th for school funding.
- Traffic problems mark Denver (for its size) as the 3rd most congested city in the U.S.
My name is Judy Solano and I am your State Representative in Colorado House District 31, Adams County. I want to keep Colorado moving in the right direction again.
My connection to and love for Colorado runs deep. My grandparents owned and farmed the land that eventually became Lowry Air Force base. For the past 25 years, my husband and I have raised our family in Adams County. For 29 years I have taught in Colorado's public schools, and supported my neighbors and community.
I am proud of my son who represented Colorado by his service in Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne Division of the Army. I am equally proud of my daughter's work with the Environmental Protection Agency's clean-up of soil contamination in the Denver-Metro area. I believe we all have a responsibility to make this world a better place.
As your State Representative, I will continue to work to find sensible solutions to create jobs, decrease healthcare costs, strengthen public schools, and protect our natural resources.
